spotguide app?

Hi!

Im a swedish windsurfer who developed an application to help me deciding where and when I should go windsurfing.
I dont know if you face the same problem im Belgium, for example:

1. I just moved to a new place (Stockholm) and needed a way to see information about spots and get navigation directions.
2. As I did not have many friends windsurfing in Stockholm i needed to know where people went and info about the conditions "on site".

Sweden has many spots that does not work on certain wind directions and its very important to find the "best" spot for the current wind direction.

Do you have the same issues here? Should I make this app available here?
(Its a simple thing but I need search the internet for some spots so that you dont start with an empty map. Of course you can edit and add new spots as a user)

The application is available on both Android and iPhone.

Hi,

I have now updated the application so that it supports Belgium. It really needs some more spots, so if anyone could add some spots I would be very glad!

I will try to get a hold of someone who could translate the application in to french, if not anyone of you would like to help?

From where do you take weather information? Is it only forecast, or also real time measured?

Hi!

The application has 2 features. (please feel free to download it and try!)

1. Observations.
Observations/Reports can be added by users when they arrive at a spot. Information that can be added:
- Current wind speed
- Image
- Additional info about text, eg. are there any other surfers there, what sail sizes are people using?

2. Spots
Spots have information about the spots, such as:
- Wind directions are good for this spot?
- Flat water, kite surfing and wave spots?
- Images
- Additional info.

The application data (observation and spots) is to be updated and modified by users.

My next feature to implement live weather info for each spot.

So, if you like, you´re more than welcome to try the app, add an observation, add any spots you know of!

Not yet Android. I cannot try it for the moment. Maybe within a few months.
The best would be to get forecast and observation from several websites and provide the best spots based on these data.
